Horse Riding Lessons at WildeWood Farm
HORSEBACK RIDING AND SAFETY CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS IN CUMMING, GEORGIA
Inclusive Horseback Riding Lessons
Many of our guests come to us looking for affordable horse riding lessons, and we’re happy to help riders of all backgrounds get started.
If your child wants to take their riding more seriously, we recommend investing in a helmet and riding boots. Having their own gear helps kids get comfortable with proper equipment and makes each lesson feel more personal.
In your beginner lessons, you’ll learn the essentials: safety precautions, how to handle horses properly, grooming basics, and how to earn a horse’s trust. These fundamentals are what turn someone who sits on a horse into a real equestrian.
As you progress, we’ll dive deeper into technique. You’ll work on balance, timing, and strength – learning how to move in harmony with your horse instead of just along for the ride.

At WildeWood Farm, we’ve been teaching riders for 30 years. We have 30 lesson horses, so you’ll get your own horse each week – no sharing, no waiting. You’ll do everything hands-on: catch your horse, groom them, tack up, ride, and care for them properly. Our lessons focus on real horsemanship and safety, not flashy tricks that skip the fundamentals.
We offer two ways to schedule:
- Option 1: Pay as you go at $80 per lesson (prepaid)
- Option 2: Pay a flat $280 per month for one lesson every week
Wondering if your young rider should take lessons or start out in horse camp? Horse Riding Camps vs Riding Lessons.
Some farms might be cheaper or let you skip straight to riding, but at WildeWood, we believe in building skills that last a lifetime.
Note: We require that jeans, close-toed shoes, and weather-appropriate shirts be worn at lessons for safety and comfort. Rider weight limit is 205 lbs.
Lessons for Kids
Our kids’ lessons are hands-on from start to finish. Your child will learn how to catch their horse, groom them, tack up, ride, and put everything away properly. We keep our groups small so every rider gets individual attention, and we take things step-by-step – focusing on fundamentals, safety, and building real confidence in the saddle.
Lessons for Adults
Our adult lessons are designed for riders of all levels – whether you’re brand new to horses or returning to the saddle after years away. We take a patient, step-by-step approach that focuses on building real skills and confidence. You’ll work with well-trained horses and supportive instructors who understand that learning to ride as an adult comes with its own unique challenges and rewards. It’s a great way to stay active, spend time outdoors, and do something just for yourself on our peaceful Cumming farm.
New! Little Riders – Pony Adventures at WildeWood
We’re excited to offer something special for our youngest horse lovers. At WildeWood Farm, we’re often asked about lessons for toddlers. The truth is – at ages 2–4, children aren’t quite ready for traditional riding lessons . . . But they are ready for something just as important. A gentle, confidence-building introduction to horses.
Frequently Asked Questions about Horse Riding Lessons
Do you offer riding lessons for very young children?
We understand the excitement behind that question. Many children fall in love with horses long before they are big enough to ride independently, and parents naturally want to encourage that interest.
At WildeWood Farm, we truly enjoy welcoming young horse lovers. We simply wait until children are developmentally ready before beginning formal riding lessons. Read More
Does WildeWood Farm offer private riding lessons?
WildeWood Farm intentionally teaches in small group settings. This decision is based first on what is best for our horses, and second on what creates the most effective and sustainable learning environment for our riders. Read More
Will I ride more than one horse?
While riders may feel safest on their favorite horse, becoming too comfortable with one horse can sometimes slow skill development. Every horse has its own personality, movement, responsiveness, and way of communicating with a rider. Learning to adapt to those differences is what helps riders become well-rounded, confident, and truly skilled equestrians. Read More
What will I learn in horse riding lessons?
Riding lessons are more than just learning to ride. After more than three decades of teaching riders, we’ve learned that horseback riding lessons aren’t just about learning to post or perfecting your canter. Sure, those skills matter, but what really happens in our arena goes so much deeper. Read More

Important Reminder:
Because we have our dogs roaming the grounds at WildeWood Farm as livestock guardians, we do not allow guests to bring their dogs on site (or even leave them in the car).
Please leave your furry friends at home when you visit for a party, camp, or lesson!
Looking for a more immersive experience? During school breaks and summer months, we offer full-day horse camps where kids can spend entire days learning barn management, trail riding, horse care, and making memories with fellow equestrians. Our camps are perfect for children who want to deepen their connection with horses beyond weekly lessons.
Our company has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry and is run by generations of equestrians. Established in 1996 in Cumming, Georgia we are here to provide you with the most conscious and exciting experience. While many of our clients seek services for beginner horse riding lessons, we offer training for more acquired skills as well. If you or a child is in need of further horseback training, we can assist you in furthering your knowledge.

We have heard from other parents that many of the children who were guests were still talking about it days later! Hannah and her staff were a pleasure to work with. The farm is beautiful and the many animals are gentle, friendly, and obviously cared for well.Posted on J KwonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very great place to visit with very friendly peoplePosted on GLORIA LOYERTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When I drive down their paved driveway and catch a glimpse of the red barn in the distance and the horses grazing in the fields, I feel a sense of peace and freedom. Yesterday was a trail ride day and Miss Hannah was patiently and humorously helping people get their mounts and instructions on which of the 3 trailers to load into. Their is always a good attitude among the riders anticipating fun and fellowship. It is never cold or wet when they are on the horses.Posted on Julie PerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So grateful for WildeWood Farm and everything riding here is teaching my daughter. Time outside in the fresh air with these amazing horses, and watching her gain strength and confidence, is such a gift 🐎💛 Her little sister is also having a blast making friends and playing with the friendly animals around the farm. I am so grateful for Hannah and her methods. She is inspirational for children and adults, alike.Posted on Dana CroyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have had a fantastic experience here! Our daughter has done adventure camp and now does riding lessons. It’s been the perfect atmosphere for her to ease into things. They have been so patient with her and helped her grow her confidence. She started not wanting to ride at all but now can’t wait to go each week! It’s a very supportive environment where they help each child find their voice and confidence to interact with the animals, each other and change how they see themselves. We are so thankful to have found this farm!Posted on Nadine BakerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We LOVE WildeWood Farm! It is an amazing experience. Its about more than just riding - Hannah teaches my daughter about the horses, how to take care of them and the techniques to properly ride them. The whole process completes an important piece of accountability and responsibility that we were looking for to help our daughter with confidence! 🐎Posted on Brittany GorhamTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My daughter started at Wildewood Farms as a 5 year old at a summer camp. She fell in love, and has been taking lessons for the last (almost) two years. Ms. Hannah is an AMAZING, patient teacher. She has taught my daughter so much, and continues to help her grow. Not only does my daughter take weekly lessons, but she begged to have her birthday party there too. It was wonderful- Hannah and all of her helpers made the day run smoothly, and the girls had a blast!! Couldn’t recommend Wildwood farms enough for lessons, parties, and camps!
